We are delighted that you are interested in soybeans. The soybean farmers of North Carolina are happy to tell you about this very important crop and its many, many uses; and they encourage you to use foods and products made from soybeans.
Soybean farmers in North Carolina, as in other states, have agreed to invest one half of one percent of the sale of their crop each year (which we call a “check-off”) in research, market development and producer communications. Their investments include the development of new varieties of soybeans and new uses for those soybeans, promotion of the purchase and use of soybeans by consumers in the U.S. and throughout the world, and means whereby they can participate in this program and benefit from research investments.
Our soybean farmers are extremely concerned about the environment because they depend on a healthy environment in which to live and produce agricultural products for a living. Consenquently, they employ proven technology and efficient practices to conserve the environment and provide the most healthy and economical food and products possible.
