Mission

The mission of the North Carolina Soybean Producers Association is to maximize the profitability of North Carolina’s soybean farmers in an economically and environmentally sound manner.

The association is engaged in four main areas: (1) research and demonstration to improve soybean varieties and farm production practices, (2) market development to increase the usage of soybeans and soybean products, (3) communications to keep producers informed about the latest developments in the industry, and (4) public policy to impact state, local and national policy decisions in favor of soybean producers.

The North Carolina Soybean Producers Association is the Qualified State Soybean Board to administer soybean checkoff funded programs in North Carolina. The association retains one-half of soybean checkoff monies collected in North Carolina for this purpose and remits one-half of collected assessments to the United Soybean Board (USB), where 68 farmer-directors oversee soybean checkoff initiatives at the national level.

The association is the state affiliate of the American Soybean Association (ASA), the membership-based grassroots policy organization representing soybean farmers in Washington, D.C. No soybean checkoff funds can be used to influence policy.
