John Fleming received the North Carolina Soybean Producers Association’s Meritorious Service award at the association’s 45^th annual meeting in Durham on January 12, 2012. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to North Carolina soybean farmers by a producer in the soybean industry

Commissioner of Agriculture Steve Troxler received the association's Meritorious Service Award for his service to the state's soybean farmers.  The award was presented by association president Jimmy Thomas at the Annual Commodity Conference of the corn, cotton, small grains and soybean associations on January 12, 2012.

Winning entries in the 2011 North Carolina Soybean Yield Contest were announced on January 12, 2012 at the Annual Commodity Conference of corn, cotton, small grains and soybeans.  Matthews Family Farm of Yadkin County won the 2011 yield contest with a winning entry of 86.1 bushels per acre.

The North Carolina Soybean Producers Association elected five new members to serve a three-year term on its board of directors at its 45th annual meeting in Durham, N.C. on January 11, 2012.  Six members were elected to serve a second term on the board of directors.
