Research Updates

The following reports are Microsoft Word documents. 

Soybean Breeding Research -- Dr. Andrea Cardinal is running a multiyear project to develop conventional and herbicide tolerant soybean varieties adapted to North Carolina.

Population, Row Width and Growth Habit -- replicated field tests conducted in twelve counties by Dr. Jim Dunphy, Dr. Ron Heiniger and Dr. Jan Spears.

Variety Demonstrations -- demonstrations of Roundup-Ready varieties in several N.C. counties, led by Dr. Jim Dunphy.

Potential Yield Enhancements -- replicated field tests of inoculants, foliar fungicides and foliar insecticides, conducted by Dr. Jim Dunphy, Dr. Ron Heiniger and Dr. Jan Spears.

Plant-parasitic Nematodes -- an evaluation of drought-tolerant soybean varieties for performance in fields infested with soybean cyst nematode and Columbia lance nematode.  Conducted by Dr. Steve Koenning and Dr. Tommy Carter.

Soybean Allergens -- Drs. Sandra and Arthur Weissinger identify and characterize soybean allergens by expressing soybean proteins and testing for reactions with human blood serum.
